Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develops nursing service mission, philosophy, and structure to ensure delivery of effective nursing care in multidisciplinary team setting, including structures to facilitate participative management and collaborative professional service and organizational plan that specifies lines of authority, accountability, and responsibility for all non-prescribing nursing activity and personnel. Creates environment that enhances nursing practice and facilitates delivery of care by qualified, competent nurses. Provides orientation for nursing staff on Seven Counties mission, vision, strategic objectives, and policies and procedures. Develops and implements a written plan for nursing services. Assures establishment and implementation of nursing practices consistent with standards of professional organizations, licensing and accrediting entities, and SCS best practices. Participates in executive-level planning, decision making, and administration. Supervises nurses. Assesses and prioritizes nursing services needs and allocates nursing resources accordingly. Supports, delegates and coordinates nursing care provided throughout SCS, including development of policy on practice and documentation requirements for assessment, nursing diagnosis, plan, interventions, and progress reports, and review and revision of staffing patterns.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Kentucky RN License issued by Kentucky Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE
Four to six years of experience as Registered Nurse in psychiatric facility, including two years in supervisory capacity.
Ability to make independent decisions.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients, physicians, nurses, and other members of multidisciplinary treatment team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
No heavy physical effort anticipated in performing duties nor any health or accident hazards regularly present except in extreme emergencies when managing violent patients.
