Health Care Regulatory & Transactional Attorney
Feldesman LLP, a boutique law firm with offices in Washington, DC, and Sacramento, CA, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join our nationally recognized Health Care Practice Group. We proudly serve hundreds of federally qualified health centers, behavioral health providers, and human services organizations across the country—organizations that deliver essential services to underserved communities. This position is located in the Firm's Washington, DC office.
Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr
We are looking for an attorney with a strong foundation in health care regulatory law and transactional experience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the legal frameworks governing publicly funded health and human service programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, and HHS-administered grants), and have experience drafting and negotiating contracts that comply with federal fraud and abuse laws and managed care regulations.
This is a dynamic opportunity to work closely with mission-driven clients, gain hands‑on experience, and take on meaningful responsibilities within a collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment.
Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate health care‑related agreements, including:
Managed care/payor contracts
Professional services agreements
Vendor and business associate agreements
Conduct legal research and analysis on:
Health care regulatory compliance
Scope of licensure
Fraud and abuse laws
Corporate governance issues
Advise clients on compliance with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules and fraud and abuse regulations.
Collaborate with partners and other attorneys to deliver exceptional client service.
Stay current on evolving federal health care regulations and policy developments.
Qualifications
3‑4 years of experience practicing health care law
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active DC bar license (preferred) or eligibility to waive in
Strong academic credentials and professional references
Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills
Commitment to supporting safety‑net providers
Must be available to work in‑person at our Washington, DC office
