Position Summary Directs the overall operation of the inpatient pharmacy department, including physician order verification, drug storage, medication security, distribution, staffing, and resource utilization. Provides strategic leadership to improve pharmacy operations and represents pharmacy in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
Assure compliance with USP 797, TJC, Texas State Board of Pharmacy, and other regulatory agencies.
Provide strategic leadership in continuous improvements of pharmacy operations.
Communicate effectively with staff and other professional colleagues and represent pharmacy in meetings and multidisciplinary teams.
Education and Experience Requirements
Licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas is required.
Master’s degree in business or health care administration is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a pharmacy leadership position in the acute care setting.
Strong communication and computer skills are required.
Licensure
Licensure or license eligible to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas is required.
Must be registered with the Texas state Board of Pharmacy as a preceptor.
