We are looking for an object-oriented Software Engineer II dedicated to backend development who will contribute to building innovative, scalable applications that enhance user experience. This position is located in Arlington, VA, with a hybrid schedule (office Monday–Thursday, WFH Friday).

Responsibilities

Design and develop high-performance web applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally.

Apply object‑oriented design principles and software design patterns to achieve high reusability and maintainability.

Promote consistent architecture patterns across HomeS development teams.

Collaborate closely with other software engineers across the organization.

Advocate standards‑driven technology and facilitate discussions among .NET and database developers.

Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (preferably Computer Science, Engineering or related field) from an accredited university.

3+ years of production development experience with C#, .NET (or .NET Core) and/or Java.

Experience delivering performance‑sensitive products that meet specifications and SLA.

Proficiency in unit, performance, and automation testing.

A demonstrated record of commitment to prior employers.

Deep understanding of business drivers relevant to the software you build.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Relational database design experience (AWS RDS, MS SQL) with performance tuning.

Experience with AWS services: S3, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Apache Kafka, and Datadog.

Track record of building and launching successful products and platforms.
