Overview AM Process Engineer II at Blue Origin – enabling new spaceflight designs through additive manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

Understand the AM value stream from start to finish including printing, post processing, thermal processing, and inspection.

Research, onboard, and production harden new processes and equipment to increase quality, efficiency, and reduce cost of the AM workcenter.

Conduct root cause investigation of issues with machines and manufacturing, and work with operations, maintenance, and outside vendors to implement solutions.

Qualifications

Experience working in a Production or Development Environment.

Experience authoring and developing manufacturing processes to improve end product.

Proven skills with troubleshooting of industrial processes or equipment using Root Cause Analysis methods.

Bachelor’s or higher in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.

Ability to support operations onsite in Kent, Washington and during off hours (if required) via phone or online tools.

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.

Desired

Experience with metallic or polymer 3D printing, welding or casting.

Experience with fabrication methods (e.g., machining, sheet metal, carbon fiber manufacturing, riveting, heat treatment).

2+ years of experience in aerospace, medical device manufacturing or a related field.

Experience with quality management (e.g., AS9100 or ISO 9001).

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training or certification.

Compensation WA applicants range: $89,176.00 - $124,846.05.

Other Site Ranges May Differ Compensation may differ by location.
