About The Team The Payment, Identity and Integrity (PII) Technical Partnerships team is an integral part of how Lyft operates. The team manages key strategic partnerships to maintain and drive growth of new and existing Lyft payments products. We partner with external vendors and internal cross‑functional teams (Pay Product, Pay Engineering, Finance, etc.) to proactively identify opportunities to improve customer experience, drive technical optimizations and manage operational costs.
About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Partnerships Manager to manage key strategic external partnerships and initiatives related to rider and driver products. You will manage key rideshare partners, financial products (e.g., Gift Cards, Payments Reporting), and collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to ensure timely launch of programs and products.
Responsibilities
Support PII and partner planning, focused on growing existing relationships and integrations.
Manage relationships and operations with key partners, overseeing business process design and troubleshooting, acting as the bridge between partners and Lyft’s product, engineering, and support functions.
Act as technical SME for end‑to‑end payment processing initiatives and related products.
Apply knowledge of compliance and financial regulatory requirements related to US and international payment processing.
Lead and collaborate with engineering and data teams on API integrations, data pipelines, and ETL processes with external vendors and internal platforms.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop technical documentation (functional specs, process flows, and operational runbooks).
Lead collaboration with legal, finance, product, and compliance teams to execute partnership initiatives aligned with PII objectives.
Identify new partners and assist in negotiating business and technical terms, driving commercial term negotiations as needed.
Own PII issues from beginning to end by working with engineering and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues systematically and timely.
Support cross‑functional teams for PII platforms to build critical tools, automate processes where possible, and address long‑term or recurring issues.
Manage processes for tracking partner and product impacts.
Work with internal teams to build new capabilities and implement complex initiatives.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree; CPA, MBA preferred.
6+ years of experience in technical partnerships, product or consulting in the payments industry.
4+ years of management consulting, strategy operations, or technical program management experience within high‑growth technology, fintech, payments, or ridesharing industry.
Strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem (PSPs, card networks, issuers) including processor integrations and compliance requirements.
Good understanding of payment APIs, data pipelines, and the technical lifecycle of a payment transaction from authorization to settlement.
Proven experience managing external partners in payments or financial services, including complexities with engineering, product, compliance and legal.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical and financial concepts to cross‑functional partners.
Experience with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Zip, Airtable, Oracle) to manage tasks, dependencies, and timelines.
Proficiency with SQL for querying data and generating reports (preferred).
Strong analytical skills, with experience working with payments, financial or operational data.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including managing multiple competing priorities, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
Data‑driven approach for ongoing operational performance measurement and tracking.

Location & Remote Work This role will be in‑office on a hybrid schedule. Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Working in the office at least 3 days per week is an essential function of this hybrid role. Hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
Compensation The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco or New York area is $128,000–$160,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
