About the Role Verisk’s Extreme Event Solutions (formerly AIR Worldwide) Seeks a Motivated Risk Analyst To Support Our Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) Team Across Two Primary Pillars: Securitization – delivering high-quality analytics for catastrophe bonds and related ILS transactions; ILS Client Support & Remodeling – maintaining and enhancing key workflows, datasets, and services, including client support, training, remodeling, and event response.

This role combines transaction‑driven analytics with direct client‑facing responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of catastrophe modeling, re/insurance, and capital markets.

Responsibilities

Perform risk and loss analyses using Verisk catastrophe models to support the structuring and placement of catastrophe bonds and related ILS deals.

Produce customized Risk Analysis Reports aligned to transaction terms and client portfolios.

Support investor presentations with clear, defensible analytics and narratives.

Review transaction documents and develop Remodeling Service files used by ILS investors.

Provide real‑time event support and analytics to inform investor communications.

Deliver high‑quality service to clients using Verisk models and software: respond to inquiries, troubleshoot workflows, and ensure accurate, complete resolutions.

Build and maintain the Catastrophe Bond Database and related analytical tools.

Lead client training and enablement sessions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong analytical skills; able to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for executives, investors, and modelers.

Proactive problem solver with sound judgment under time pressure.

Proficiency in Excel required; experience with SQL, Python, or R preferred.

Familiarity with finance, statistics, re/insurance, or ILS a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Atmospheric Science).

1‑3 years of relevant experience in consulting, finance, re/insurance, or analytics.
