Responsibilities
Perform thorough history and physical exam of dermatologic oncology patients, evaluating skin lesions suspicious for malignancy.
Conduct dermatologic oncology procedures including skin biopsies, Mohs surgery assistance, cryotherapy, curettage & electrodesiccation, excisions, and sentinel lymph node biopsies as credentialed.
Develop and implement treatment plans with dermatologists, oncologists, and other specialists for skin cancers, including systemic therapies, topical treatments, and radiation referrals.
Monitor patients post‑treatment for recurrence, manage long‑term effects or complications, and conduct regular skin exams or imaging per protocols.
Collaborate with surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and dermatopathology to coordinate care and referral sequencing.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, preventive skin care, sun protection, early detection, side‑effects, and expectations.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records; participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance; contribute to clinical research or trials when applicable.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's Degree + 2 years of nursing experience, licensed RN in Arkansas, APRN/CPN License.
Completion of Physician Assistant program with state medical board PA license (for PA candidates).
Current BLS certification (or must obtain BLS within 30 days of employment).
Proficiency with typical nursing equipment: scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines.
Able to communicate normally and meet sensory requirements.
Compliance with CDC Universal Precautions.
Preferred: prescriptive authority and DEA license obtained after hire.
