Profee Complex Coder Cardiology

Banner Health . This is a fully remote position available to residents of the following states: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WY.
Pay:
$25.54 - $38.30 / hour
(based on location, education, & experience) in accordance with State Pay Transparency Rules.
Roles & Responsibilities
Evaluate medical records and provide clinical and surgical abstraction for full range of complex and multispecialty surgical, procedural and E&M professional services.
Accurately code diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines and revenue requirements.
Consult with providers for missing or inaccurate record information.
Ensure compliance with coding rules, NCCI edits, and relevant state and federal regulations.
Reconcile charges and provide timely, accurate coding per department productivity standards.
Compile daily and monthly reports and tabulate data for research or analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent; or associate degree in related health field.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), CCS‑P, RHIA, or RHIT with active certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
Minimum 3 years of complex coding experience within specialty.
Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles and American Academy of Professional Coders competencies.
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting with common office programs and coding software.
Preferred Qualifications
Specialty certification (e.g., Radiology Certified Coder).
Experience in a large, multi‑system physician practice.
