About The Role

You will collaborate with design and design staff and oversee full cycle ICT design activities for mission critical data center projects. This person will interact closely with organizational leadership to develop and edit project specifications and lead design development efforts. The Senior ICT Engineer will be self-directed on day-to-day work and independently performs most responsibilities. Will lead project teams and projects of complex scope and help develop / manage broader programs. Will coordinate activities of other personnel.

Responsibilities Independently perform advanced engineering work

Perform advanced Information Communication Technology (ICT) design tasks

Perform advanced computation analysis and design tasks for complex projects, components and systems

Independently develop scalable fiber optic and copper plant design

Independently determine physical layer route and utilization

Site support and remediation work

Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids

Review and/or prepare book or sheet specifications

Timely and effective management of project design team including resource forecasting and coordination

Identify potential project scope changes and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines

Perform QAQC peer reviews for projects where not the lead design engineer

Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findings

Collect data and other information for construction documents

Prepare project design, specification and construction documents

Lead the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team

Review shop drawings and submittals

Review and respond to RFIs

Review and complete punch lists and project closeout documents

Review and approve change order requests

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Possess strong engineering judgement and able to provide recommendations despite uncertainty

Experience solving problems with engineered solutions

Experience managing engineering projects and consultants

Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers)

Adaptable and inclined to get into the field to see things up close

Excited about a mix of office and field work

Nice to have Organized with ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage budgets; experience with calculation/data processing tools

Direct experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers

Experience as resident engineer or hands-on design consultant or owner’s engineer; knowledge of building codes and regulations

Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents; ability to carry design concepts through to deployment

Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical equipment related to data centers and EPMS/SCADA/BMS controls systems
