Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)- Medical Oncology
Department: Health System Shared Services | Clinical Nurse Specialists
Scope of Position
Provides guidance and direction to the health care team in achieving positive patient care outcomes.
Designs, implements, and evaluates patient‑specific and population‑based programs of care.
Serves as a researcher, clinical expert, leader, consultant, role model/mentor, staff resource and educator in advancing the practice of nursing science.
Translates research into evidence‑based practice that enhances patient outcomes in a fiscally responsible manner.
Fosters continuous improvement of patient outcomes through quality nursing care across patient, nurse, and system spheres.
Assists with care of benign hematology patient population as part of the cancer continuum.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing with current licensure as an RN & APRN‑CNS in the State of Ohio.
Certification as CNS preferred.
Master's Degree in nursing required, clinical specialty major preferred.
Significant clinical nursing experience relevant to assigned unit(s)/department specialty as defined in the scope of service.
Previous CNS experience preferred.
Additional Information The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a significant role in advancing evidence‑based practice (EBP), quality, and patient safety within Cancer Medicine (Medical Oncology). This role serves as a liaison among CNS colleagues assigned to cancer medicine services and provides leadership in the development, coordination, and implementation of initiatives that enhance patient outcomes.
Location: James Cancer Hospital (0375)
Position Type: Regular
Scheduled Hours: 40
Shift: Varying Shifts
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
