Sandoval County
Under close supervision, performs assigned support work providing information and services to external customers within a highly visible, high volume customer service area of Sandoval County; provides general clerical support work at a counter, teller window, or over the telephone; provides the public with explanations and interpretation of policies and procedures; assists with a variety of forms; maintains a variety of routine accounts or logs associated with area of assignment; operates a computer and/or calculator and types various forms and logs; performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED Certificate from an accredited institution and three (3) months of basic clerical support and bookkeeping experience that includes data processing and exposure to customer service functions.
Required Licenses or Certifications
Valid New Mexico Drivers License

This is a safety- sensitive position subject to random drug testing in accordance with County policy Article XIII Drug and Alcohol Policy and Testing-Drug Free Workplace of the Sandoval County Personnel Rules and Regulation.
Meets and greets visitors to the department; responds to questions or requests as appropriate; explains information to the public, including requirements related to County and State policies and procedures; provide forms to be filled out; and explains the process for obtaining various licenses, certificates, registrations, and forms.
Operates a variety of office equipment including copy machine, calculator, computer, scanner, facsimile machine, and computer peripheral equipment.
Directs individuals to various locations including other governmental agencies, as needed; and takes messages and/or refers individuals to other staff within their assigned area or in other County departments.
Creates and updates records; audits and corrects data as appropriate; registers participants for programs and/or permits; files and retrieves information via hardcopy and/or electronically.
Accesses, navigates, and performs on-line updates to automated applications or utilizes various computer applications to accomplish work; assists individuals in completing applications and various forms by answering questions or filling in responses; prints, distributes, accepts, audits, processes and files applications, forms, and other documents, verifying completeness, accuracy and timeliness; returns, approves, and accepts forms such as applications, registrations, forms, and complaints; and answers public questions related to procedures and policies.
Creates and updates files, statistical logs, and other documents with current information; reviews and verifies accuracy and completeness of a variety of information and records to include documents; and performs basic research or investigation to determine or verify information.
May schedule appointments; processes daily mail; scans, creates, stores and discards documents, files, or other information per County, State and Federal guidelines or as directed; maintains records and files; types informational documents, forms, and statistical data; and develops basic letters, memos, and reports in assigned area.
Answers all phone calls, transfers to appropriate department, and provides information on Primary, General, Local and Special Elections, Congressional, State House, State Senate, County, Municipal, Schools, Soil and Water, Flood Control, PID and ITDD Districts.
Operates equipment including Voting Machine (ICE), electronic date stamp, ballot on demand system, and the Secretary of State Voter registration system (SERVIS).
Assists in election process; signs in each office on ballot; verifies registration; processes fees, receipts and draws lots for ballot; prints, mails, replaces, delivers, accepts, and scans absentee applications; selects, contacts, confirms and mails appointment notices for poll officials; verifies ballots, ballot styles, proclamations, publications, early voting sites, tabulators, and poll locations in SERVIS; checks in contents of ballot boxes, payroll, memory cards, official results, provisional bag, keys, oath of office, voter registrations, provisional and absentee replacement ballots, county clerk envelop, roster covers, reconciliation, permit slips and tally sheets; assists to prepare canvas; verifies provisional and absentee replacement ballots, tally sheets; pulls and verifies all official result tapes; participates in recounts and rechecks; mails provisional rejection letters.
Work involves extended hours and weekends during election.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
