Job Description Summary The EPC Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of utility‑scale solar projects, including project planning, budgeting, buyout, controls/reporting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder leadership.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, execute, and take responsibility for significant scopes of self‑performed work, managing large labor crews.
Work with Superintendent to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures.
Oversee project billing, maximize cash flow, and manage pay cycles.
Present and negotiate change orders with owner for timely resolution.
Negotiate cost‑effective subcontract and material purchases.
Implement job procedures and techniques for timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
Keep project on schedule and maintain accurate reporting to management.
Manage, train, and supervise project team, acting as a mentor to junior employees.
Review contract conditions and maintain compliance.
Document significant project events (accidents, delays, change orders).
Direct preconstruction services and activity.
Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages.
Manage project risk, develop mitigation plans.
Maintain quality control, including Site‑Specific Quality Management Plan (SSQMP).
Avoid or mitigate claims and conflict.
Complete all job close‑out procedures.
Conduct warranty follow‑up (typical 2‑year period).
Develop and maintain relationships with Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors.
Coordinate with material suppliers for timely deliveries and solve supply‑chain challenges.
Negotiate with local Contract Labor Provider for competitive terms.
Lead regular project meetings with Owner and key partners.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural bachelor’s degree preferred.
5–8 years field construction management experience, including supervisory skills.
Leadership ability in remote, diverse teams.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Bluebeam Revu), CMiC experience a plus.
Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
Understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating).
Strong understanding of utility‑scale PV plant construction methods.
Understanding of utility & ISO interconnection sequence and durations.
Minimum 50% travel, including remote or rural jobsite assignments.
Excellent organizational, communication, and people skills.
Detail‑oriented, self‑starter.
Objectives or Goals to Measure Performance
Accuracy in proposal schedules driven by strong project variable understanding.
Timely resolution of disputed claims or impacts.
Strong scheduling culture and awareness throughout operations.
Compensation Salary: $110,448.00 – $138,060.00
