Overview

The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is dedicated to helping children and their families by providing the right services and solutions based on individual needs. CFCE expanded in early 2012 to include The Pediatric & Family Health and Wellness Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), offering preventative health services including general and sick care for adults and children, OB/GYN, dental services, nutrition programs, and mental health and substance abuse treatment for children and adults. Why join CFCE: Making an invaluable impact in your community Growth and professional development opportunities available Qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness We are a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides supervision and leadership to Clinic Providers; works closely with other assigned clinical staff and the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that services are provided appropriately and efficiently. This position also provides medical care to patients in the Clinic.

Responsibilities

CMO FUNCTIONS

Reviews, formulates and implements clinical protocols and provides training to staff on current clinical protocols and priorities Develops practice policies and procedures Responsible for on-call schedule and coordination of hospital admissions Provides training and oversight of all clinical personnel Directs and/or participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate standards of care, quality assurance indicators, patient care protocols and medical records Serves as Chairperson of Credentialing and Privileging Committee Serves as Chairperson of Joint CQI Committee and oversees the QI/QA program Oversees QA/QI Program

MEDICAL FUNCTIONS

Examines, diagnoses and treats medical problems Maintains appropriate medical records documentation on all patients in electronic medical record Refers patients for specialty care, as appropriate Provides emergency treatment, as needed Provides education to patient’s family regarding diagnoses, treatment, prevention, safety, etc. Develops practice policies and procedures Responsible for on-call schedule and coordination of hospital admissions Provides training and oversight of all clinical personnel Directs and/or participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate standards of care, quality assurance indicators, patient care protocols and medical records

DENTAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise dentists Assists in identifying solutions to local access to healthcare needs and coordinating community/regional outreach and health promotion programs Supervises dentists’ clinical activities Review dental related OSHA safety and infection control issues Review dental related capital budget requirements Participate in recruitment and interviewing of all new dental applicants Develops and maintains strong working relationships to actively address operational challenges owning corrective action plans and delivery of results Coordinates activities with the Dental Team for project management in support of new capabilities, changes initiated, and process improvement initiatives with other dental support areas
