Hampton VAMC is recruiting for 3 General Dentists to provide diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, and routine periodontal care to patients at the North Battlefield Clinic, Chesapeake VA. Positions are available until 9/30/2025 or until all three are filled. Eligibility
Open to U.S. citizens. Current SF‑50 is required. First consideration is given to Hampton VAMC employees. The position is in the Excepted Service. Duties
Comprehensive dental examination and treatment planning including the use of radiographs, photographs, and diagnostic tests. Restorative procedures: amalgam, resin composite, inlays, onlays, veneers, post‑and‑core, crowns. Endodontic therapy including nonsurgical root canal, pulpotomy, pulpectomy, apexification. Periodontal care: scaling, root planing, full‑mouth debridement, gingivectomy, crown lengthening. Fixed and removable prosthodontic services. Minor oral surgery within scope of privileges. Management of temporomandibular dysfunction and occlusal guard fabrication. Pain management, bleaching, local anesthesia, and minor orthodontics. Prescribing medication and coordinating care for medically compromised patients. Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery or equivalent from an approved school. Current, full and unrestricted dental license in a U.S. state, territory or Commonwealth. Completion or ongoing residency in general practice, specialty, or significant experience treating medically compromised patients. Board certification in general dentistry is preferred. Requirements
Pass pre‑employment physical examination and seasonal influenza vaccination. Undergo background/safety investigation. Submit SF‑50 and be prepared for mandatory drug screening. Be willing to complete on‑site onboarding and credentialing. Benefits
