Quality Assurance Manager – Wausau, WI The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the oversight and functions associated with Quality Assurance for our Wausau, Wisconsin facility’s operations. The Manager develops and empowers the quality assurance specialist team, demonstrates commitment to GMP compliance, food safety, continuous improvement, and corporate culture, and ensures that quality systems align with and support corporate goals, objectives, and strategies.

In This Role You’ll Make an Impact By

Collaborating with operations, quality, engineering/maintenance, and R&D to ensure compliance and sustainability of manufacturing processes and quality systems.

Leading the quality assurance team to ensure products meet company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

Identifying GMP, food safety, and quality training needs; overseeing training and serving as SME instructor.

Conducting or overseeing batch record reviews and releasing manufacturing work orders via the ERP system.

Writing, reviewing, and approving documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and reports.

Overseeing validation of manufacturing processes, equipment, cleaning, and facilities for regulatory compliance.

Supporting investigations of deviations and unexpected observations in QC and manufacturing.

Conducting quality investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

Participating in and supporting regulatory inspections, third‑party audits, and customer audits.

Maintaining compliance with third‑party certifications (Organic, Kosher, Halal, NSF, etc.).

To Succeed You Must Hold

Bo​ster’s Degree or higher in microbiology with 5+ years of QA/QC experience and 3+ years of direct Quality Management experience.

Experience leading employees through change.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements that affect food and dietary supplements preferred.

Preventive Controls Qualified Individual preferred.

Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP/HARPC, food safety management systems, and prerequisite programs.

Ability to read and interpret regulations, standards, guidance documents, technical manuals, handbooks, formulations, and product specifications.

Effective prioritization and change‑management skills with a demonstrated ability to accept additional responsibilities.

Ability to delegate, provide direction, and assure compliance with established requirements.

Excellent communication, organization, planning, problem‑solving, and follow‑up skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Occasional travel required.
