Job Title Team Lead – Assembly

Location South Chesterfield, VA

What we’re looking for We are looking for a Team Lead who will be responsible for leading a team in a specific area of Manufacturing Operations, coordinating activities of department workers, and performing the following duties.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role

Lead and direct manufacturing teams.

Implement and maintain safety, quality, delivery, cost (SQDC) and lean responsiveness.

Conduct daily huddle meetings focused on area performance.

Drive continuous improvement sustainability.

Standard Work

Small lot presentation to the line

Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.

Lead group problem‑solving teams.

Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems using PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act).

Perform backup tasks for the group when needed.

Maintain efficiency levels as per annual operating plan.

Prepare and execute daily start‑up plan.

Update and maintain cross‑functional training matrix.

Maintain hourly performance boards with input and variance causes.

Participate with manufacturing engineering to assure on‑time delivery via Kaizen processes.

Effectively lead daily Kaizen activities and document.

Conduct continuous level load scheduling.

Coordinate material scheduling and kitting to avoid shortages.

Maintain 6S and operator PM checklists.

Manage absenteeism representation.

Implement and sustain standard work procedures, visual boards, and controls.

Maintain efficiency at 90% or better.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Over 3 years of related experience.

Basic computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, basic AS400 software or similar system knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of manufacturing experience.

AS400 experience.

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements

Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50% of the shift.

Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods up to 10 hours/day.

Ability to make repetitive motions on the machine up to 40% of the shift.
