Job Description COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Contribute to a positive end user experience by developing communications that accurately and clearly convey the benefits and impacts of GES efforts. Work across GES and Government organizations to ensure messages are technically accurate, easily understood, and clearly present the reasons for and benefits of the effort being described.

Responsibilities

Work across GES technical organizations and with Government points of contact to develop accurate, timely, and comprehensive Government-facing communications that effectively convey the significance and benefit of GES technical initiatives including high-visibility efforts, routine maintenance, and planned outages

Coordinate with other Communication Specialists to manage multiple efforts and competing priorities

Collaborate with Government points of contact (Service Owners, GWPMO, Y41, Y4 etc.) to socialize GES efforts and ensure GES communications meet Government needs

Collaborate across GES organizations and with Government POCs to facilitate communication reviews and approvals (e.g., pre-socialization, building trust, and understanding style requirements and tone/language preferences)

Work across GES organizations and with GDIT Corporate to create internal (GES-facing) communications in support of program and company efforts (e.g., morale events, training requirements, messages from management)

What You'll Need to Succeed

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

Experience: 2+ years of related experience working in corporate communications is preferred

Required Skills:

Excellent communication skills (listening, speaking, and writing) required

Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Experience creating graphics for presentations, documentation, and digital signage

Preferred Skills:

Excellent time management and task prioritization skills needed

Experience with PhotoShop and InDesign is a plus

Experience with SharePoint site administration is a plus

Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/Poly

US citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Required: Less than 10%
