Debug / Diagnostic Technician (Hardware – Linux – Server Systems) Location: Florence, KY

Contract (6+ Months, High Potential for Permanent Hire within 60-90 days)

We’re looking for a

Debug / Diagnostic Technician

to join a fast-paced, technology-driven environment supporting enterprise-level server systems. You’ll be part of a team ensuring every server leaving the facility meets rigorous quality and performance standards.

If you have a strong understanding of computer hardware, Linux systems, and network troubleshooting, this is your opportunity to apply your skills to cutting-edge technology.

What You’ll Do

Diagnose & Troubleshoot Hardware:

Analyze and isolate server hardware faults through POST monitoring, BMC connection, and component testing.

Perform Component-Level Repairs:

Replace and verify hardware such as CPUs, RAM, PCIe cards, motherboards, and drives.

Use Linux Diagnostic Tools:

Connect via SSH, execute diagnostic scripts, and assess system performance in a Linux command-line environment.

Document & Collaborate:

Maintain detailed repair logs, share findings with team members, and ensure consistent process documentation.

Handle Equipment Safely:

Move and prepare server units (up to 25 lbs) for diagnostic evaluation and testing.

What You’ll Bring

Proficiency with

Linux command-line operations

and scripting.

Strong understanding of

computer and server hardware architecture

(CPU, RAM, PCIe, BIOS, etc.).

Familiarity with

remote management tools

such as SSH and BMC/IPMI.

Knowledge of

POST diagnostics

and interpreting boot-process error codes.

Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical hardware safely.

Preferred Experience

Previous work in

hardware repair, data center operations, or diagnostic testing .

Experience using Linux tools such as

ipmitool, ethtool, ncat, or smartctl .

Knowledge of

file transfer protocols (SCP)

and network connectivity troubleshooting.

Understanding of

ECC memory

and its role in enterprise hardware reliability.

Schedule Options (Compressed Work Week) Day Shift (6:00 AM – 5:30 PM)

Sun/Mon/Tues & every other Wed OR

Thurs/Fri/Sat & every other Wed

Night Shift (6:00 PM – 5:30 AM)

Sun/Mon/Tues & every other Wed OR

Thurs/Fri/Sat & every other Wed

(includes 15% shift differential)
