Job Overview In the remote-based Field Application Specialist role, you will be responsible for offering overall product expertise, application knowledge, and technical support along each step of the customer process for the Separations Technologies products, including the Chromatography portfolio. The main mission is to ensure the successful application, implementation, qualification, and use of our products by supporting sales for product positioning and demonstration and customers for application development work, initial startup, training, and troubleshooting.

This is a remote/field-based position out of the Boston, MA area and will assist with customers locally and be responsible for customers in the New England (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT) and New York areas. Travel for this position may be up to 50% at times, based on customer need, and some international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the account management team for customer discussions on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, demos and trials, and application studies

Collaborate with account management in the customer process, URS analysis, and technical response, and lead customer evaluations to help position products in line with the application requirements. Strategize with assigned Account Managers to generate value-adding activities according to customer and business needs.

Be responsible for the assigned product line to support sales target achievement in the defined territory

Provide technical support proactively, answer inquiries and resolve implementation problems in the field for customers

Support new products through close collaboration with beta site testing, product demonstrations/discussions, and information gathering

Support quality department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customers processes for better investigation and resolution

Report on competitors’ products and feedback information to the application specialist management and products management

Ensure training of customers on new technologies and support initial start-up operations

Support regional marketing initiatives

Conduct trials and demos to achieve intended results and create trial reports to product management and sales teams

Interface with product/project/division management with the willingness and ability to interact at various levels (sales, technical, customers)

Ability to lift 35+ pounds

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in biological/life sciences and/or engineering

3+ Years biopharmaceutical industry experience in Downstream Bioprocess development and/or MSAT or Manufacturing

Product and application expertise in downstream bioprocessing, with a focus in chromatography a plus, and supporting technologies

Hands‑on experience in scale‑up and scale‑down methods for downstream unit operations

Multi‑task and prioritize activities accordingly

Self‑motivated; team player

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

Experience in downstream drug development, through regulatory filing

cGMP experience and automation

Proficiency in Windows‑based software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Statistics
