WaveWorks Technologies Inc
WaveWorks makes wireless communication solutions for the next wave of connected devices. Our technology delivers ultra-low power, small form factor, and standards-compatible wireless communication by reflecting, rather than emitting, energy. This backscatter-based approach enables orders of magnitude lower power consumption while maintaining long range and high reliability.
WaveWorks is expanding our engineering team and searching for high-performing, dedicated individuals to help us blaze new trails.
We’re seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to support the assembly, rework, and testing of WaveWorks’ ultra-low-power wireless and sensing technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong practical electronics skills, precise workmanship, and disciplined organization. Much of the work will center around fine‑pitch SMT assembly and rework, prototype preparation, and maintaining high-quality electronics lab procedures.
This is an on‑site role based in Seattle, WA.
ROLE
Assemble and rework prototype electronic boards and subassemblies using fine‑pitch surface‑mount soldering techniques
Perform board‑level inspection, debug, and bring‑up under engineering direction
Organize and maintain lab tools, components, and documentation to ensure traceability and repeatability of test builds
Support engineers in prototype validation and measurement activities (e.g., using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers)
Prepare, label, and maintain hardware inventories and version control logs
Contribute to fixture fabrication and wiring for test setups and long‑term reliability experiments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Formal training or substantial hands‑on experience in electronics (academic, professional, or hobbyist/maker environment)
Proven skill in SMT soldering and rework, including fine‑pitch components and reflow processes
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail in handling hardware, documentation, and version control
Basic proficiency with lab instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
Ability to follow technical instructions, schematics, and assembly procedures
Clear, reliable communication and a methodical, ownership‑oriented work style
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with RF test or measurement setups (VNA, spectrum analyzer)
Familiarity with test data logging or simple automation
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field is a plus
WaveWorks’ backscatter technology is redefining wireless connectivity for low‑power devices across industrial sensing, wearables, and peripherals. Join us as we turn this next generation of wireless into reality.
WaveWorks is committed to a friendly and welcoming working environment and offers a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees. We do not discriminate based on race, gender, age, religious affiliation, or any other legally protected status.
