Dolby, a leader in entertainment technology, seeks a People & Places team member to design and deliver an exceptional employee experience across EMEA. The role focuses on driving people relations, building strong partnerships, and ensuring compliance with European labor and data privacy laws.

Key Responsibilities

One Dolby : Balance global and local cultures into a unified employee experience, promoting the company’s vision, goals, and values.

People Relations Agenda : Own the agenda across the EMEA region, weighing both global and local needs.

Partnerships : Build strong alliances with local People Business Partners, the US corporate/regional People Team, Legal, functional specialists, and business leaders to support proactive change programs.

Labor Relations : Serve as the primary People Team interface with the Works Council in Germany and oversee relations with other labor representatives across Europe. Lead negotiations and coordinate internal support for collective consultations.

Legal Advice : Provide expert guidance on German labor law and European data privacy law.

Strategies and Initiatives : Develop and implement employee relations strategies and initiatives that align with company policies and legal requirements.

Investigations : Conduct investigations into employee grievances and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair application of company policies.

Manager Support : Guide managers in handling complex employee relations issues and maintaining positive relations.

Policy Development : Assist in drafting and reviewing company policies to ensure compliance with labor laws and business objectives.

Training : Deliver training sessions on employee relations, labor law compliance, and best practices.

Continuous Improvement : Lead projects focused on employee satisfaction, retention, and attrition.

Trend Analysis : Monitor employee relations trends and design proactive solutions.

Dispute Management : Manage dispute and investigation processes, including initiation, documentation, and resolution.

Coaching : Provide coaching on People Relations practices and performance management strategies.

Collaboration : Partner with leaders on changes to organizational structure, work practices, and employment terms.

Change Mediation : Mediate and guide through change processes.

Customer Service : Deliver high-level customer service and build trusted relationships.

Problem Mitigation : Work with stakeholders to understand and mitigate potential problems.

Legislative Monitoring : Track EU employment law developments and assess business impact.

Compliance : Interpret changes in EU employment law and develop proactive compliance solutions.

Key Skills and Experience

Experience : 8+ years in European employment and labor regulation.

Education : Degree in law, employee relations, industrial relations, HR, business, or related field.

Legal Knowledge : Expertise in German labor law; experience with EU data privacy law and at least one additional European jurisdiction.

Language Skills : Fluent in German and English (additional European language an advantage).

Employee Relations : Proven background as an HR Business Partner, employment legal specialist, or manager.

Innovation : Strong innovative thinking for process improvement.

Cultural Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a complex, multi‑cultural environment.

Works Councils Experience : Direct experience with German works councils and employee representatives across Europe.

Leadership : Influential leader capable of establishing credibility quickly.

Adaptability : Proactive and responsive in fast‑paced settings.

Communication : Team‑player with strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Business Practices : Knowledge of professional business practices and a customer service mindset.

Team Collaboration : Ability to support and motivate others toward common goals.
