The Assistant Coach (WAGE) provides assistance in specific aspects of coaching the Division II sport program including but not limited to: student-athlete recruitment, practice preparation and setup, and player development.
This posting will support applications for Assistant Coaches (WAGE) for the following sports at UVA Wise:
Football
Women's Volleyball
Women's Basketball
Men's Basketball
Women's Lacrosse
Baseball
Softball
Tennis
Golf
Cross Country/Track & Field
Wage Faculty and all personnel actions associated with them are governed and approved by the EVPP and policy
PROV-026: Faculty Wage Employment . Assist in various aspects of the intercollegiate sport program including but not limited to: Attending practices and player conditioning Participate actively in practices Support student-athletes academic experience Creating a positive and productive environment Travel to away games and attend home games Keep track of special statistics at games and practices Communicate effectively and appropriately Maintain confidentiality of records and information Provide feedback to coach regarding players and team as necessary Assist with setting up and clean-up of facilities before/after practices Offer suggestions, guidance and information to athletes relating to the game and play Providing encouragement and support Helping to organize the team for practices and games Communicating with Head Coach(es) and relevant issues or problems Assisting with office duties as assigned Actively listening and learning various sport specific techniques as instructed by coaches Actively listening and learning various game strategies as instructed by coaches Maintaining social media accounts and creating graphics to promote the program In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Degree preferred-Bachelors or Masters Experience: None Licensure: None The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The
