Overview
The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Surgery Institute seeks a Critical Care Physician to join our team serving West Penn Hospital in the Pittsburgh area. Our current needs focus on pre- and post-surgical critical care (Surgical Oncology, Acute Care Surgery, Bariatrics), obstetrical & gynecology critical care, cardiology critical care & burn critical care. We welcome established physicians as well as support newer physicians who are looking to develop their skills alongside knowledgeable mentors, advanced practice providers, and resident physicians. Responsibilities
Provide outstanding clinical skills. Contribute to teaching/educational activities; research opportunities available if desired. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Schedule: Full-Time - 13 shifts per month, split over daytime and night shifts. Shift duration: 0800-1800 daylight; 1800-0800 overnight. Deliver comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at West Penn Hospital, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of acute and life-threatening conditions; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Perform procedures commonly required in the ICU setting, such as central line placement, endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation management, and arterial line placement. Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. Successful completion of an accredited residency program in internal medicine, surgery, anesthesiology, or a related field. Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine. Board certification in Critical Care Medicine (or eligibility for certification). Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment.
