Job Description:
Our Special Programs and Systems team is hiring Linux System Administrators with a passion for mission excellence in our High Consequence Missions sector. In this role, you will monitor, document, and report system performance and equipment status in a small team environment to enable operational success of deployed systems. This role includes system design, configuration, and debugging of Linux systems. Note: this is a full time in-office role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Configure and maintain Linux mission systems
Triage system alerts and initiate resolution protocols
Develop SOPs
Collect data to assist decision makers
Some periodic WMA travel. Occasional OCONUS travel
Coordinate with system stakeholders including customers, engineers, and analysts in person and remotely
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Must be a US Citizen
Must possess and maintain Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph
Linux command line experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail in system monitoring
Ability to assess and evaluate ever-changing situations effectively
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Computer system basics such as Git, NTP, DNS, DHCP, and VNC
Monitoring tools such as Zabbix and SNMP
Configuration, hardening, and maintenance strategies for RHEL-based systems such as CentOS and Rocky Linux
VM or container management with Libvirt, VMWare, Vagrant, or Docker
Scripting in Bash or Python
Database management using Elasticsearch, Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and SQL
Networking configuration and analysis, for example using Wireshark
Infrastructure management tools such as Ansible or Salt
Hands‑on server and network switch hardware maintenance
Java, JavaScript, or C++ programming or quality assurance (QA) experience
Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position. This position is part of our Federal Solutions team. Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $176,600.00
