Responsible for analyzing information and creating financial deliverables for large clients with complex, primarily self-funded benefit programs.
This position offers a hybrid schedule. The employee must be willing and able to work in one of our Corporate offices in MD, PA, VA, or WV as needed (typically 3 to 5 days per month). Responsibilities include: Financial analytics for self-funded clients, typically with over 1,000 lives. Preparation of customized analyses such as market review, renewal rate projections, claims utilization, rate and contribution analysis, benchmarking, and financial funding analysis. Development of alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities. Technical analysis of insurance contracts and financial arrangements. Serving as primary contact with insurance carriers, negotiating rates, and evaluating coverage options. Maintaining carrier relationships and reviewing renewal ratings. Analyzing claims data to identify trends and advise renewal activities. Writing client-facing executive summaries with observations, conclusions, and recommendations. Collaborating with team members and providing guidance to analysts. Participating in client meetings and team development activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 5+ years of experience in employee benefits, preferably with an insurance broker or carrier. High School diploma required; college degree preferred. Must hold a state Life & Disability insurance license. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Why USI?
