The Position Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking an experienced Evictions Attorney who is capable of handling litigated matters to join our growing team. We're looking for bright, enthusiastic individuals, who will bring a strong work ethic and eagerness to grow alongside the firm.

Responsibilities

Drafting of motions, briefs, memorandums of law and legal correspondence

Conducting legal research

Preparing for and attending hearings, trials, etc.

Communicating with clients and adversaries

Negotiating settlements and drafting stipulations when necessary

Maintaining responsibility for all aspects of respective contested cases, including devising legal strategies, and executing on same

Overseeing support staff and reviewing their work, including but not limited to, notices to quit, petitions, client reports

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Landlord/Tenant law

Strong knowledge of post foreclosure evictions

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school; admission to New York state bar

Excellent writing, legal research, communication, and analytic skills

Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and proficientlySuperior attention to detail and organization

Able to manage a heavy workload and meet deadlines

Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
