Our client, a leading publisher of world language products, is seeking a dedicated and driven
K12 Regional Sales Manager - West
to join their team. This person will be a hands‑on sales coach and manager for the K12 West Region Team. They will use their passion for educational technology, aptitude for developing diverse talent and passion for coaching sales professionals to help grow business across the K12 market. This role is field‑based, 100% remote and requires 60% travel.
Candidates must be located in one of the following western US states in order to be considered: California, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Utah. Ideally, within close proximity to a major airport. Relocation is not available for this position.
Responsibilities:
Mentor and coach a team on strategic territory planning, relationship building, consultative selling, and account acquisition in order to win top target accounts and drive consistent growth
Analyze and evaluate opportunity reports with entrepreneurial eyes in order to identify new opportunities and forecasts to prioritize and drive territory growth
Develop, implement and adjust strategic plans with an eye to exceed regional business development and sales goals
Maintain a high level of understanding of the full suite of my client's K12 print and digital products.
Maintain tight oversight of customer trends, market landscape, competitive insights and consumer trends in order to drive action plans and develop winning tactics to the field
Provide feedback and prepare regular reports to Sales, Marketing & Technology leadership
Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences when appropriate
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, manage and close strategic opportunities
Ensure consistent utilization, management and administration of Salesforce.com (CRM), products, technology and policies
Manage region's expenses and ensure that they are within budget and proper coverage
Effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
Required Experience:
10+ years of successful field-oriented consultative sales experience within the education, publishing, ed‑tech or similar industry
Experience with the state adoption process related to educational products and materials
3+ years’ leadership experience managing and developing both remote/field-based sales team members with a strong ‘player‑coach’ mentality
High level of comfort using sales tools, CRMs, and other technologies for analyzing sales data and creating accurate regional forecasts
Exceptional sales skills including strategic thinking, prospecting, planning, presentation, negotiation, relationship building, territory management and active listening skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with advanced presentation and technology skills
Ability to strategically execute effective business travel including setting appointments
A willingness to travel within the region to support team member development and success + travel to sales leadership/team meetings without restrictions
Ideal Experience:
Experience selling digital and print-based products within the education industry
Experience in the K-12 education space
Experience with California's K12 education state adoption process, etc.
Experience with salesforce.com
An advanced degree
A working knowledge of multiple languages (Spanish or French specifically)
