The Senior Chef Tournant is responsible for the supervision of kitchen staff in the assigned outlet in the absence of the Room Chef and for creating and fostering a sanitary, productive, and team‑oriented work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assume responsibilities of the room in the absence of the Room Chef.
Work with the Restaurant Manager and front‑of‑house staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
Ensure quality food product and presentation.
Teach and develop staff while serving a consistent product with pride.
Maintain food cost, labor cost, and expenses within budget guidelines.
Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Be able to cook and create new, innovative, and imaginative recipes.
React quickly and resolve problems.
Support and foster loyalty and conduct business in a professional manner at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, in a professional manner.
Minimum of a two‑year Culinary Arts School education, or equivalent technical training in the food industry.
Minimum of two years’ experience as a line‑level supervisor or chef in a specialty room, casual dining, or buffet restaurant environment.
Present a neat and professional appearance.
Preferred: bilingual abilities.
Flexibility to work various shifts.
Food Safety Employee Training required.
Food Handler’s Card required.
Three years’ experience as a supervisor.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Fast‑paced environment, multiple tasks handled under time constraints. Must be able to manage heavy business volume and sensitive situations involving staff and guest problems in a timely manner while maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and daily memos.
