ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST II FULL-TIME CONTRACTUAL

Position Overview
Main Purpose of Job: review and process certification applications and issue regulated certificates pursuant to the Nurse Practice Act, facilitating the timely processing of Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician applications to support the mission of the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Location MDH Maryland Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215
Grade and Employment Type Grade 11, full‑time contractual employee.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
One year of administrative, clerical, technical, or secretarial experience.
Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non‑commissioned officer meeting independent judgment and analysis requirements.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
Excellent customer service experience.
Experience working with the public.
Exceptional email and phone etiquette.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Special Requirements Candidates may be required to provide their own transportation to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations.
Selection Process Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated based on education, training, experience, and qualifications. Complete applications must be submitted by the closing date. Incorrect applications or resumes will not be accepted.
Benefits Contractual employees (30+ hours/week) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits covering 75% of the cost. Additional benefits may include dental, accidental death and dismemberment, and life insurance, with the employee responsible for the remaining premium. Leave may be granted at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
