Description The Risk Compliance Manager is responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of programs, policies, and practices to ensure the business unit is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for assisting the BSA / AML Compliance Officer with monitoring significant compliance issues including those that require escalation to the Management Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for managing Compliance staff, identifying performance goals, high performers, recommending the appropriate merit increases within the compensation structure, completing performance reviews, and development plans.

Responsible for ensuring Senior Management is made aware of identified weaknesses in existing risk management controls, tracking issues identified, and validating issue resolution.

Responsible for ensuring departmental activities run smoothly and efficiently by providing leadership, training, and supervision.

Develops, implements, and monitors a comprehensive risk-based compliance management program for compliance with laws, regulations, and rules governing bank operations, products, and services.

Manages and / or conducts institution-wide and / or product-specific compliance reviews and assessments to identify key risks, and assists management in developing corrective action plans.

Participates in product development to ensure compliance with disclosures, processes, and advertising.

Monitors and interprets regulatory changes that impact new products, or existing business activities.

Develops, coordinates, and participates in compliance-related educational and training programs.

Regularly performs reviews of internal audit reports and regulatory reports of examination to identify compliance-related issues and to determine if corrective action commensurate with the complexity of the identified issue and / or weakness is being taken.

Assists BSA / AML Compliance Officer with managing regulatory examinations and Internal Audits.

Prepares reports as necessary for the Management Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee.

Performs other related duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Bachelor (4-year college) degree or at least 5 years of experience in the applicable area of Compliance.
