Position Summary We are currently seeking a Traveling GPS Technician to join our team in Reno, NV. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of GPS tracking systems across a fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role involves frequent travel to various job sites and regional offices to ensure GPS systems are functioning optimally.
Key Responsibilities
Install GPS tracking devices on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
Test and verify proper functionality of GPS units post-installation.
Diagnose and repair GPS hardware and connectivity issues in the field.
Travel to multiple locations across regions to perform on-site service and support.
Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and equipment status.
Provide technical support and training to field personnel on GPS usage and troubleshooting.
Perform firmware updates and system calibrations as needed.
Coordinate with fleet management and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and system integration.
Manage inventory of GPS units, tools, and installation supplies.
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
What You'll Bring Qualifications
Experience with GPS systems, vehicle electronics, or telematics preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with vehicle electrical systems.
Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
