Job Summary:

As a Sous Chef you will help the military dining team honor our nation’s heroes by preparing meals, greeting guests, and ensuring every detail reflects gratitude, respect, and service with purpose.
As a Sous Chef, you are responsible for assisting with the overall success of the food program and overseeing culinary functions. Your duties include planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation, ensuring adherence to client culture, Health Department regulations, and company standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. You will also motivate, train, develop, and direct back‑of‑house associates to meet operational objectives and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating and participating in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
Assist with planning and creating menus.
Roll out new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.
Assist with managing cost controls and controlling expenditure.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
2 to 5 years of culinary experience.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
Knowledge of food and industry trends focused on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.
ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred.
Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.
