and open to those who are able to work in‑office 2 days per week on a hybrid model.
About the Team Payments sits at the core of Patreon’s business, directly responsible for paying creators billions of dollars a year. Our work enables creators to seamlessly grow and monetize their global audience over many channels. The team tackles interesting product and technical challenges with breadth and depth.
About the Role
Help scale and expand the capabilities of Patreon's payment platform so creators get paid effectively and on time, every time.
Lead and contribute to the development and design of Payments products and tools to allow creators to maximize their earnings on Patreon.
Drive technical design of components that are scalable, well tested, and easy to maintain.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build new functionality while maintaining a delightful user experience, motivated by passion for our shared mission.
Work with frontend frameworks and technologies including React, Typescript, and Next.js.
Work on the backend with Java, Python, Flask, Spring Boot, MySQL, and AWS, introducing other technologies when it makes sense.
Build a strong, product‑minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers inside and outside the team.
About You
8+ years of software development experience.
Strong experience with the frontend framework and technologies including React, Typescript, and Next.js.
Strong experience with Python or a similar language and SQL.
Excellent communication skills with cross‑functional team members and mentoring junior engineers.
A track record of building systems with attention to detail, high reliability, and high throughput.
Experience building products in the payments domain is a plus, but not a strict requirement.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent.

The posted salary range is dependent on the location and the level. The final offer will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, competencies, and geographic location, aligning with the appropriate job level within Patreon’s leveling framework. For remote employees located outside CA and NY, salary may vary based on location and local market conditions.
