Overview
ACRT Pacific, LLC. is hiring for a full-time regular position. This role is outdoors-oriented and focused on forestry-related experience. We seek energetic entry-level professionals who enjoy outdoor work and want to gain experience in Forestry, with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related disciplines. This position is contingent on client approval and designates a safety-sensitive role. Active TRAQ Certification required You must reside within 50 miles of Grass Valley, CA Duties & Responsibilities
The VMI (TRAQ) must perform circuit patrols in accordance with the annual VM plan, VM patrol standards and processes. The VMI (TRAQ) shall identify required tree work along the existing PG&E rights-of-way; prescribe tree work to be performed and document inspection. The VMI (TRAQ) shall understand the associated scope and ensure their inspection meets the applicable standard. The VMI (TRAQ) will notify property owners/agencies when tree work will occur and obtain necessary authorizations. The VMI (TRAQ) may act as the VM contact for new business and reconstruction work requested by the energy delivery organization. The VMI (TRAQ) may perform work verification inspections, verifying applicable inspection and tree work completion and quality. The VMI (TRAQ) may perform investigation and documentation of tree-related outages and attend outage meetings as requested. The VMI (TRAQ) may be assigned VM tags and will track, field check, prescribe work, and notify customers for non-routine locations from various sources; assist in close out CC&B cases in the field. The VMI (TRAQ) may support emergency response as directed by OEC or level one operations (dispatching tree crews, field checking sites, first responder and-by agreements). The VMI (TRAQ) shall independently complete tasks assigned by the supervisor. The VMI (TRAQ) shall support oversight of vegetation projects, including field operations such as tree assessment, tree trimming, and other required work. The VMI (TRAQ) shall participate in Contractor safety and tailboard meetings. The VMI (TRAQ) shall act as a customer relations representative on behalf of PG&E. The VMI (TRAQ) shall provide support and coordination between contractors, communities, agencies, first responders, and all other PG&E workgroups and stakeholders involved in vegetation projects. The VMI (TRAQ) shall ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including permits and environmental protection measures as documented on Environmental Release to Construction. The VMI (TRAQ) shall be proficient with electronic devices and documentation, completing electronic and paper-based reporting as assigned. Basic Responsibilities
Patrolling distribution or transmission circuits and prescribing work to be performed by PG&E\'s tree contractor, ensuring clearances maintain compliance for at least one calendar year. Determining when next trim is required and whether a trim or removal is necessary, assessing trees with potential to strike PG&E facilities for failure likelihood and hazards. Patrolling, identifying, and prescribing required tree pruning and tree/brush removal work to meet regulatory requirements and/or PG&E Vegetation Management standards; notifying property owners of planned work and mapping circuits. Managing EC notifications and cases, performing outage investigations, obtaining permits as needed, and documenting work in VMDSR or other PG&E databases using handheld devices. Using computers and software to enter and process data on handheld devices as required. Participating in emergency response per safety requirements and directing supervisor as needed. Maintaining direct contact with PG&E division personnel, public agencies, and customers as directed. Adhering to ACRT\'s Guiding Principles and performing other duties as required. Equipment, Environmental and Safety Requirements
Driving cars, trucks, forklifts and operating other equipment. Walking on uneven ground; exposure to noise and extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness. Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement; exposure to dust, gas, fumes, and chemicals. Prolonged periods of sitting (driving, meetings, trainings). Forestry-related equipment (e.g., clinometer, range finder, DBH tapes) and safety gear (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses). Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Valid Class C driver\'s license. One (1) year of experience as a VMI or equivalent on a utility contract. Active TRAQ Certification required All hires subject to approval by PG&E representative.
