Salary: $16.15 – $20.06 per hour (approx.)
DCI Donor Services, Inc. is part of the New Mexico Donor Services (NMDS) family, a designated organ procurement organization dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation. We collaborate closely with hospitals, funeral homes, and medical examiners to ensure timely and compassionate recovery and transfer of tissue and organs.
Responsibilities
Performs aseptic recovery of musculoskeletal tissue and skin tissue, assisting in room setup and breakdown, culturing, labeling, rinsing, and packaging tissue and reconstructing the donor.
Coordinates tissue donation process, procurement, shipping, and storage while maintaining professional relationships with hospital, funeral home, and medical examiner staff.
Assists in receiving, releasing, and transporting donors while ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
Orders and inventories ocular, tissue, and organ recovery supplies, maintaining stockroom areas through organization, cleaning, and par level assessments.
Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, processes, and dispenses recovery instruments and equipment needed for daily operations.
Coordinates with vendors for equipment services and repairs, sterilization, biohazard waste disposal, and scrub services.
Other duties: moving and lifting donors, drawing blood for infectious disease testing, and any tasks deemed necessary by the Tissue Recovery Manager.
Performs quality assurance inspections of incoming orders, maintains logs per policy, and complies with safety regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in an allied health field (EMT, ORT, CST, SA, ST, or Tissue Banking).
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass all MVR underwriting requirements.
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
