IAT Insurance Group is seeking an Actuarial Analyst for a hybrid role based in Naperville, IL, Alpharetta, GA, or Cheshire, CT. The role will focus on insurance pricing with exposure to reserving practices and support Inland Marine, Property, Aviation, Programs, and Homeowners business units. As a member of the Actuarial department, the candidate can enroll in IAT’s Actuarial Development Program—providing study time and actuarial resources for Actuarial exams.

Responsibilities

Produce rate adequacy reports to assist business in understanding profitability and rate need.

Develop and maintain technical pricing tools.

Maintain reports to accurately measure rate, retention, and new business growth.

Collaborate with underwriting, claims, IT, and senior management to develop plans for new products or improvements to existing products and procedures.

Gather data, analyze information, and make recommendations to solve problems and interpret the meaning of information for others within the organization.

Develop tools to measure and monitor profitability by business unit and product.

Identify trends in claim frequency and claim severity and communicate results to underwriting and claims management.

Estimate and recommend loss reserves to be carried in the company’s financial statements.

Develop rate‑making templates and provide support for state‑by‑state rate filings.

Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience is required.

Equivalent experience is defined as having 6 years of relevant actuarial experience in the P&C Insurance environment.

4 or more Actuary exams completed or on the way to being completed are required.

Able to work independently and has strong oral and written communication capabilities.

Able to proactively identify opportunities or problems and facilitate understanding and solution development.

Able to demonstrate highly skilled analytical and conceptual thinking.

Able to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.

Able to build and maintain a network of relationships.

Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Able to demonstrate a history of taking the initiative, being a self‑starter with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel, SQL, or Python is preferred.

To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Compensation The annual gross salary range for this position is $55,200 – $120,330. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location. The range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary. Total compensation will include a base salary, performance‐based bonus opportunities, 401(k) match, profit‑sharing opportunities, and more.
