Job Description Thompson Gray is seeking a highly skilled GFEBS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide financial analysis support to the U.S. Army customer. This role focuses on analyzing budget execution, developing financial models, and supporting program decision‑making through data‑driven analysis. In addition, the SME will provide expert financial insight and analysis leveraging data sourced from GFEBS and Excel‑based tools.

Duties

Conduct detailed financial analysis of Budget Execution Plans for FY26, primarily using Excel‑based models.

Perform comprehensive analysis of budgets and actuals, identifying trends, variances, and areas for optimization.

Develop and maintain cash flow models to estimate timing of obligations, disbursements, and reimbursements.

Assist the government with "what-if" scenario modeling and variable analysis to support data‑driven decision‑making.

Review and analyze monthly execution reports to evaluate program performance and spending patterns.

Collaborate with government personnel to interpret financial data, explain impacts on program outcomes, and provide actionable recommendations.

Provide expertise in program financial management principles and best practices, supporting program managers in understanding financial execution.

Position Requirements

Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, or program execution within a DoD or federal environment.

Hands‑on experience with GFEBS (data analysis, report interpretation, or financial modeling using GFEBS outputs).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for leadership.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's preferred).
