Open Rank - Pediatric Nocturnist (St. Joseph's Hospital)
University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine seeks a full‑time Pediatric Nocturnist to provide overnight clinical care at St. Joseph's Children’s Hospital, Tampa, FL. The role requires overnight shifts with call, clinical patient management, and participation in the residency teaching program. The appointment is non‑tenure earning and salary is negotiable. Signing bonus is available.
Responsibilities Provide direct medical care to pediatric patients during overnight shifts, maintain documentation, teach residents and medical students, and contribute to the quality improvement and educational leadership initiatives. The Nocturnist will assist with admissions, manage complex patient cases, and support the hospitalist program’s clinical operations.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution and Board Certified or eligible in Pediatrics.
Minimum of 12 months of recent inpatient clinical care experience.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License and be a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospitals.
Experience in a hospitalist or similar clinical program is preferred.
Demonstrated teaching, academic research, or service record appropriate for the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
