Overview

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, Neuro-Oncology (San Francisco, CA) Location: San Francisco, CA. This role supports neuro-oncology patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The position includes delivering holistic patient care, collaborating with physicians, and adhering to state nursing practice acts and organizational policies. Responsibilities

Manages the medical care for patients utilizing clinical protocols in collaboration with the physicians. Performs physical examinations as needed and ensures individualized health maintenance (vaccinations, risk factor screening, mental status baseline, dental screening, and other assessments). Conducts diagnostic examinations and collects/updating detailed medical histories. Consults with supervising physicians for abnormal findings and during implementation of clinical protocols. Performs standardized procedures within the scope of practice and may facilitate care to a community practitioner upon discharge. Assesses, plans, and coordinates patient care with an emphasis on patient-centered care and continuity of care. Maintains effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team; supports care transitions and workflow improvements. Delivers safe, compassionate, evidence-based care in compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices. Maintains PHI confidentiality and stays current with advances in acute care and specialty nursing practice. Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Master’s degree in Nursing. Licensure/Certification: NP-Nurse Practitioner (national certification and state licensure as applicable); NP-F Furnishing; RN-California Registered Nurse; CSRC/DEA as required; BLS for Healthcare Providers. Typical Experience: 5 years of recent relevant experience. Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication, patient education, EHR proficiency, teamwork, and ability to prioritize and delegate within scope of practice.
