Job Family Data Science & Analysis (Digital) Travel Required Up to 10% Clearance Required Ability to Obtain Public Trust What You Will Do Perform quality control checks and clean up large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability. Prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured datasets (e.g., Oracle, SQL, Excel, text, images) for use in regulatory monitoring and reporting efforts. Develop coding and queries to support data testing and dashboard development using tools like Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI. Use version control software (e.g., Git) to collaborate on data science projects. Apply critical thinking and quantitative skills to conduct analyses on food and ingredient-related public and private datasets. Research regulatory topics and prepare documentation (e.g. FOIA) summary reports, memoranda, abstracts, and publications. Communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Expand regulatory knowledge relevant to submissions, regulatory product safety, ingredient monitoring, and public health. What You Will Need US Citizenship is required. A bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a data analyst or in a similar role. Experience working with unstructured data sources (e.g., text, images, audio) and structured data (i.e., Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Excel). Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, R). Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Ability to communicate complex data insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Proven track record of delivering impactful data‑driven projects or products. Nice to Have Experience with health, clinical, or regulatory data. Familiarity with statistical concepts and methods (e.g., regression analysis, hypothesis testing, time series analysis). Programming experience in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other relevant frameworks. Knowledge of clinical or life science regulatory frameworks. Salary The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00–$108,000.00.
