This is an office support position in a small office. The Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection has 22 employees and we license and examine consumer lenders including mortgage companies. We also handle consumer complaints, rulemaking and administrative hearings.

REPRESENTATIVE TASKS: Provide excellent customer service when answering the telephone;

Handle -- at times a large volume of calls and transfer those calls appropriately;

Process and allocate payments received via check and credit card;

Develop, implement, and maintain office procedures that ensure smooth and consistent office operations;

Scans and indexes documents into docuware;

Assists with registrations and data entry;

Assists with following p-card procedures

Prepares out of state travel requests; and

Prepares travel reimbursement requests

Minimum Qualifications:

Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a proficient knowledge of modern office practices to perform advanced administrative support tasks requiring specialized skills, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and discretion to make determinations on varied matters. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, Office Associate I and Office Associate II.

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class.)

Some positions may require possession of a valid Class B Maine Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
