Overview:
Outdoor Escapes & Design (OED), a premier leader in custom landscape and outdoor living environments, is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our field team.
This role is focused on the precision operation of essential earth-moving equipment for high-end landscape and construction projects. A strong preference will be given to candidates who also possess a Class A CDL and verifiable hauling experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Equipment Operation
Expertly operate a variety of landscape and construction equipment, including mini-excavators, skid steers, track loaders, and dozers.
Execute tasks such as rough grading, finish grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling with precision and efficiency to meet design specifications.
Perform routine daily inspections and maintenance checks on all assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Maintain a high standard of quality and safety while keeping pace with demanding production schedules.
CDL Specialist Preference (Highly Desired)
Candidates who possess an Active Class A CDL and experience are highly valued as they may be required to:
Load, secure, and transport machinery (lowboy/equipment trailer).
Haul and dump bulk materials (dirt, aggregates, mulch, etc.) using Class A dump trucks.
Coordinate equipment and material logistics as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment (Skid Steer and Excavator experience is essential).
Proven ability to perform finish grading and operate with high precision in a residential/commercial landscape environment.
Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for equipment operation.
Must be able to work full-time, including early starts and occasional overtime as required by construction deadlines.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
Active Class A CDL with a clean driving record (Current health endorsement/Medical Card required).
Minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience hauling/dumping with a Class A CDL truck and lowboy/equipment trailer.
Proven knowledge of legal load securement methods and all applicable DOT safety regulations.
