Solid Waste Project Manager
The Solid Waste Project Manager will lead complex solid‑waste projects, manage civil site design and permitting, and oversee operational programs. This management‑consulting role requires technical expertise, excellent writing, planning, and communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with technical project reports and permit applications (O&M Plans, Waste Ban Compliance Plans, Closure Plans, MassDEP permit modifications, Site Suitability applications). Prepare MEPA filings (ENF, EIR, NPC) and License Applications.
- Conduct solid‑waste facility inspections and prepare reporting.
- Provide peer review, technical guidance, and QA/QC oversight on project deliverables.
- Assist clients with facility design, permitting, compliance, and liaison with regulatory authorities.
- Oversee construction management and program delivery.
- Manage multiple projects – scope, schedule, budget, subcontractor coordination, invoicing, and client communication.
Essential Skills and Experience
- BA/BS in Environmental, Engineering, Geology, or similar scientific field.
- MassDEP Third‑party Inspector; Asbestos Inspector licensure is a plus.
- 8+ years of solid‑waste project experience, including design, permitting, inspection, and construction.
- Direct project‑management experience in solid‑waste design and permitting.
- Strong technical knowledge coupled with project‑management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
