Student Success Retention & Recruiting Coordinator
Advising and Student Services – N – No Rank – 1.0 FTE – Starts 12/01/2025 – Undergraduate Students Services Office, School of Business. Reports to Director of Student Success.
Position Summary
The Student Success Retention & Recruiting Coordinator operates out of the Undergraduate Student Services Office and is responsible for coordinating all recruiting initiatives for prospective undergraduate students considering the School of Business and supporting student retention, specifically for first‑time full‑time freshmen. The coordinator works with the Undergraduate Student Services Team to ensure positive student success outcomes, hosts recruitment events, collaborates with admissions and advising, leverages data to assess recruitment effectiveness, builds relationships with counselors at local high schools and community colleges, continually improves first‑year retention efforts, attends the Summer Business Institute, coordinates community engagement events, and participates in the Undergraduate Student Success team to achieve cross‑functional goals. The role is guided by equity and inclusion best practices.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruiting initiatives for prospective undergraduate students considering the School of Business.
- Host recruitment events, collaborate with admissions and advising, and provide necessary information to prospective students.
- Leverage data to assess the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and build relationships with counselors at local high schools and community colleges.
- Identify and support at‑risk first‑year students and connect them with campus resources.
- Engage in proactive outreach to the first‑year student cohort and collaborate with the broader student success team to achieve positive outcomes.
- Support the Summer Business Institute, coordinate community engagement events, and actively participate in the Undergraduate Student Success team.
Qualifications
- BA/BS with 1‑2 years of related experience in higher education.
- Experience providing coaching, counseling, mentoring, or advising to students.
- Ability to work collaboratively and under limited time pressures with colleagues.
- Prior experience working in student recruiting or retention.

Work Days / Hours
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule to be determined.
Total Compensation
Salary is dependent on several factors. New employees typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth. The starting annual salary is $57,000, which may be negotiated above this rate depending on experience, skills, market parity and internal equity. Benefits include 95% premium paid healthcare, a generous retirement and vacation package, and reduced tuition rates for employees, spouses or dependents at any OSU schools.
