Position Summary
The Division of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting a general cardiologist for an open‑rank, full‑time clinical faculty appointment. Responsibilities include outpatient cardiology care, participation in inpatient units or consult service, and teaching of cardiovascular fellows, residents, and medical students. The position may also involve seeing patients at an outreach clinic and interpreting advanced cardiac imaging studies. Rank and track (fixed‑term, tenure‑track, or variable track) will be determined based on applicant qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
Provide outpatient cardiology services, including development of a referral practice.
Attend inpatient units or consult service as assigned.
Teach cardiovascular fellows, residents, and medical students.
Participate in outreach clinics and interpret advanced cardiac imaging studies.
Engage in clinical research and scholarly activity as appropriate.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD degree.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Board Certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM).
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to practice independently.
Interest/expertise in preventive cardiology, cardiovascular genetics, cardio‑obstetrics, cardiac MRI, or cardio‑oncology.
Track record in cardiovascular research is a plus.
