Job Summary As the local, on-property sales contact for customers, the Sales Manager proactively solicits and handles all revenue-related opportunities in a sale, actively upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue, achieves personal and team revenue goals, and ensures proper business turnover for service delivery.

Responsibilities

Build the department top-line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Identify revenue opportunities for the hotel based on event profile.

Meet and exceed individual revenue goals, manage customer budgets to maximize revenue, and identify opportunities to up-sell products and services.

Act as a mentor for others within the sales area and maintain minimum standards in the sales process.

Understand overall market: competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, demand, etc.

Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, etc.

Conduct customer site inspections.

Target key accounts, markets, or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation.

Proactively identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.

Respond to incoming inquiries within market segment within 4 hours.

Close the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions.

Accurately forecast group sleeping rooms and revenue prior to turnover.

Create sales contracts as required.

Comprehend budgets to assist in financial management of department, achieving or exceeding budgeted goals.

Ensure high level of customer satisfaction, build long-term relationships, and support future revenue growth.

Coordinate and communicate event details with customers, follow up post-event, and solve problems or suggest alternatives.

Display leadership in guest hospitality and ensure consistent, high-level service throughout all phases of hotel events.

Make decisions, including employees/team, and commit to courses of action with available information.

Maintain commitment to Driftwood Hospitality Management operating principles and philosophies.

Apply broad business knowledge and balance short- and long-term perspective to generate strategies while leading organization toward goals.

Proactively ensure others have accountability, authority, and resources necessary to manage work execution and drive results.

Engage in continuous learning and share best practices with others.

Qualifications

Must have at least 3+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably in hospitality.

Experience selling luxury brands and experiential services is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

Aggressive negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business with a high conversion ratio.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Delphi, and Delphi Diagrams.

Strong customer development and relationship management skills.

Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, banquet and event service operations.

Financial management skills: understanding P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting, and scheduling.

Strong communication, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills.

Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems.

Physical Demands Frequent walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, smiling. Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to ten (10) pounds.
