Operating 4 donor centers and conducting dozens of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 20 area hospitals and clinics with life‑saving blood‑from our community, for our community.

Responsibilities Summary:

This entry level position performs routine manufacturing of blood components based on the capabilities of the site. This includes processing whole blood to create red blood cells and plasma products, processing apheresis red blood cells, special blood products and application of final product labels. The Tech I will be proficient in the proper use, maintenance, and quality control of processing equipment. The Tech I accurately and concurrently documents manufacturing records, strictly adheres to standard operating procedures and is competent in the usage of El Dorado Donor (EDD) and MasterControl (MC). All work processes are performed and documented according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and within the guidelines of accrediting organizations (FDA, AABB, Green Cross, CLIA, etc.).

Schedule:

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Variable schedule (Monday‑Sunday) based on operational needs. Shifts may begin as early as 8:00 a.m. and, for later shifts, may extend until 8:30 p.m. Evening shifts typically occur on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Saturday availability (8:00 a.m.‑4:30 p.m.) is required; Sunday availability is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

Component Laboratory Technician I responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Receive blood collections, fold blood bags

Process blood collections

Process research, source, and special blood products

Proper use of laboratory equipment and respond to alarms

Obtain samples from blood components for quality testing

Restock laboratory supplies

Label blood products

Understand good laboratory practice and cGMP requirements

Proficient in the use of IBR computer systems

Qualifications Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Physical

Must be able to stand and walk most of the shift

Lift 50lbs

Hand/eye coordination, visual acuity

Preferred

Bachelor's or Associate degree

Laboratory manufacturing experience using cGMP
