Engineering Analyst III – Distribution Engineering Services
Location:
Flint/Holly/Groveland, MI (Onsite 4 days/week; occasional Fridays & Saturdays; mileage reimbursable)
About the Role We are seeking an
Engineering Analyst III
to join our Distribution Engineering Services team, supporting construction operations across Michigan’s eastern region (Groveland, Clyle, all the way to Lake Huron). This role is key to implementing GPS technologies for newly installed and existing gas facilities, providing real-time field support to construction crews, and helping the team maintain accurate, up-to-date utility location data.
This position offers hands‑on fieldwork, the opportunity to work with state‑of‑the‑art GPS tools, and collaboration with operating teams to ensure construction quality, safety, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside gas construction crews in the field (10‑hour days).
Capture GPS points of newly installed and existing gas facilities using GPS antennas and other technology.
Enter excavations and climb ladders to accurately record facility locations.
Continuously update facility locations in real time to prevent damages during construction.
Support operating teams and project assignments, anticipating needs on construction sites.
Integrate seamlessly with operating teams and communicate effectively in the field.
Required Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification.
Experience working in gas or construction environments.
Solid understanding of construction processes and municipal infrastructure.
Hands‑on experience with staking, locating, or surveying existing infrastructure.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in excavation sites and elevated positions.
Aptitude for reading and interpreting construction plans and understanding construction activities in real time.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail in dynamic field environments.
Schedule & Compensation
Onsite 4 days/week, Monday–Thursday.
Fridays and Saturdays may be required for overtime or specific project needs.
Mileage reimbursed for work‑related travel.
This role supports construction operations in a region with up to 1‑hour travel distances.
