iRocket
iRocket is scaling its autonomous launcher capabilities, and we're looking for an Avionics Engineer to design, integrate, and verify guidance, navigation, control, and flight-software systems for our reusable launch vehicles.
The Role
Design and integrate avionics architectures: flight computers, sensors, guid-nav-control, actuation subsystems, and vehicle communication systems
Produce schematics, PCB layouts, thermal/mechanical analysis, and firmware/FPGA integration where applicable
Perform system-level verification: hardware-in-loop, software-in-loop, vibration/thermal/EMI testing, and flight-qualification
Work with software, propulsion, structures, and systems teams to close requirements and flight readiness
Maintain documentation: requirements, verification plans, traceability, and anomaly reports
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering
3+ years of avionics or embedded systems engineering in aerospace, defense, or complex systems environment
Experience with PCB design, signal conditioning, sensor integration, flight-software verification, and test systems
Knowledge of guidance/navigation/control algorithms, FPGA/embedded firmware, and hardware validation
Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills; ability to lead integration and verification in a startup setting
